We were called out to a house in Cannon Hill, Brisbane, to look at a door frame that had “papery” paint. It was quickly established that termites were chewing on the soft pine door frame timbers. The termites had eaten right up to the paint, leaving nothing behind. With a gentle touch it wasn’t hard to break the thin paint film.
With further detection using a thermal camera, we found a significant heat signature in the wall at the base of the door frame.
Once we were able to identify the areas the termites were operating inside the house, we were could target the application of Termidor foam to quickly eradicate the activity.
The next step will be to install a chemical treatment to the external perimeter with Termidor HE. This will give safe and effective protection for 8 years.
